Friday Foreign Filing Roundup

Each Friday, we’ll post a roundup of the patent law/foreign filing news from that week.

Here’s a recap of this week’s news:

  • America Invents Act passes House Judiciary Committee, changing the patent system from the first-to-invent system to a first-inventor-to-file system (which is currently the international standard).
  • USPTO launches three Patent Prosecution Highway pilot programs.
  • Spain and Italy are threatening more legal action if EU patent moves forward. Ministers meeting on June 27 are set to adopt two regulations which will approve the creation of a unitary patent system, without Italy and Spain.
  • New website allows applicants to sell PCT-based patent rights.

Please feel free to add news from your region in the comments section.  And don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for the latest updates.
